Ina Grobbelaar featured artist December

Ina studied Fine Art at the University of the Free State and has painted professionally for over 20 years. She depicts scenes of the Cape peninsula, the Bo-Kaap and Table Mountain. Her detailed panoramic scenes make use of vivid colour and bold shapes to capture the energy and magic of this beautiful area.

“We are privileged to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world and I hope to share this beauty through my art.”

For December at Noordhoek Art Point, she has especially created pieces featuring the her favourite spots along the peninsula like Muizenberg, St James, Kalk Bay, Clovelly, Fish Hoek, Simon’s Town and Boulders.

As an artist, she has many funny stories to tell. Once at an exhibition, a total stranger approached her and bluntly told her that he did not like her art. Ina politely explained that taste varies in art. He then went on to say that his wife loved Ina’s art and that he wanted to buy Ina’s original painting as a gift to her. Ina was more than happy to comply.

A local plumber once told her that he seemed to see her work on display in every second house he visited. Ina had never realised that. She wants to use this opportunity to thank everyone for their patronage through the years.
