We’re hosting our first ever open exhibition from 1 – 15 October 2022! Whether you’re a seasoned or amateur artist, we want you to try your hand at creating something unique, maybe even slightly quirky for our Thinking Out the Box theme. That’s all we’ll say on the matter, except that works must measure 40cm x 40cm. The rest is up to you!  

We will host an opening event on Saturday 1 October at 18:00.

Terms and Conditions

Who may enter:

Submissions are open to artists of all ages, both professional and amateur.

Submission info and dates:

There is an R200 submission fee per artwork. (non-refundable)

The final online submission date for applications is 24 September 2022

All selected work must be delivered to Noordhoek Art Point on 28 – 29 September between 9 am and 5 pm.

No late submissions will be accepted.

The artist is responsible for any delivery or collection costs.

All unsold artworks are to be collected from Noordhoek Art Point on 16 October 9 am – 4 pm, or 17 October 9 am – 5 pm.

Noordhoek Art Point will not be held responsible for any damage to the artwork.

The copyright of all artworks exhibited remains the property of the artist.  Noordhoek Art Point may share images of any exhibited work, free of charge, for the purposes of marketing and promotion.

Artwork criteria:

All works must be delivered ready to hang.

All paintings must be completely dry.

All works must measure 40cm x 40cm.  If the work is framed, the outside measurement of the frame must be 40cm x 40cm.

Stretched canvases can be ordered through Noordhoek Art Point.  40cm x 40cm x 4cm.  R190 each. Please email Tuesday Houston at tuesdayhouston@gmail.com if you would like to order a canvas from us. 

Only original artworks will be accepted.

Artworks on paper need to be done on archival paper and must be framed. 

Photographs will need to be framed.

Selection process:

Noordhoek Art Point will have the final say on which pieces will be hung for the exhibition. 

Noordhoek Art Point reserves the right to reject any artworks that it deems inappropriate to the gallery and its audience. Topics that would be seen as inappropriate include, but are not limited to – pornography, racism, extremely political, demeaning to disabled people or the elderly, and offensive to religious or other beliefs.

Pricing and labeling:

All artwork submitted must be available for sale.

Noordhoek Art Point will take a 25% commission on all sales.

Administration for artwork sold during the exhibition will need to be processed and payment made by month-end, October 2022. 

The artist’s full name, the title of the work, the medium, and the full retail price (including Noordhoek Art Point’s commission) must be attached to the back of the work.

Young artists under the age of 18 will have their age stated on the artwork’s label (eg Emma Smith Age 8).

Noordhoek Art Point is not VAT registered and therefore VAT will not be added.
